JANICE GOW PETTEY ED.D.

Janice Gow Pettey is a nonprofit executive, an author, a teacher, and noted authority on diversity, ethics, and nonprofit governance. She has a doctorate degree in organization and learning from the University of San Francisco.

Janice is chair emeritus of both AFP Ethics Committee and the AFP Research Council. In 2008, Janice was awarded a Lifetime Achievement in Philanthropy Award from the Golden Gate Chapter of AFP. She remains the only nonprofit professional to receive this honor from her home chapter.

Janice is a former Peace Corps volunteer in Korea. She’s a 4th generation Californian whose ancestors sailed from China for the United States in the 1850s.

An expert nonprofit strategist with a deep knowledge of business processes, project management, donor development, and today’s technology environments, Sarkis brings a unique perspective to creatively analyzing and solving problems.

An inventor who holds several technology patents, Sarkis is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Armenian; he makes his home in New York.
